Word on the street is that the electronics giant Circuit City is about to go under. Recently, the chain has closed over 155 stores around the U.S and layed off thousands in an attempt to stay afloat financially (apparently they are too broke to even file for Chapter 11 according to the consumerist). This should mean great deals for you bargain hunters out there right? Maybe… rumors are already circulating that Circuit City will begin liquidation sales soon but some market analysts are skeptical. Circuit City’s predicament is the result of tighter credit terms by suppliers, a dismal economy, and reduced borrowing ability. What this means is that Circuit city might not even have much in stock during the Holiday season. Still, according to one source, we may begin to see price reductions in games and gaming gear of up to 20% soon.
